The new - and additional - Michelin stars were announced last week, with the north receiving particular attention from the hallowed food guide this year.

And then The Barn at Moor Hall was given its first, with chef Nathan Cornwell saying he was ' so proud ' to have been honoured.

Pleasingly, this year was particularly good for the north, in terms of recognition the Guide gives out.
Aside from the fantastic news for Simon Rogan and his team, a host of other restaurants got their due too.
Mana in Ancoats retained its single star, the first in Manchester for over 50 years, while plenty of others have been recommended.
Chef Simon Shaw’s middle eastern spot Habas is a new entry (noted for ‘small sharing plates guided by the Middle East, with a few hints of the Mediterranean’), as is the stark and minimal Thai barbecue restaurant District, on Oldham Street, praised for its ‘deconstructed and re-invented Thai dishes with a classic heart’.
Also retaining their entries are the likes of Erst, 63 Degrees, Tom Kerridge’s The Bull & Bear, Adam Reid at The French, Canto, Tast, El Gato Negro and Osma in Prestwich, alongside those slightly further afield, like Levanter in Ramsbottom, Perfect Match in Sale, Borage in Bowden and the White Hart Inn in OIdham.
