Founding research on real insight from readers, Witch? granted the Scottish capital with an overall score of 83 percent, with the top city on the list scoring not that far ahead - at 86 percent.
Out of eight categories, Edinburgh showed the worst performance when it came to crowds, scoring only two stars out of five - suggesting that the city is too crowded at times.
For the rest of the categories - shopping, value for money and ease of getting around - the capital scored a solid three out of five.
It doesn't come as a surprise that Edinburgh did so well when it comes to dining venues and sights - with multiple festivals currently entering their full swing, the city is bursting with exciting events to visit and enjoy. The world-famous Edinburgh Fringe Festival alone has over 3 000 events on offer.
