Which Broncos players deserve to make the Pro Bowl this year?

Fan voting for the 2023 Pro Bowl opened earlier this week — do the Denver Broncos have any players worthy of All-Star recognition this year?

Broncos running back Javonte Williams might have made a case for the Pro Bowl this year if he hadn’t suffered a torn ACL early in the season. Denver’s other running backs have all been underwhelming.

Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson isn’t playing anywhere close to a Pro Bowl level and all of the team’s receivers have suffered because of that. Denver’s rookie tight end, Greg Dulcich, has made some nice plays, but he’s not going to make it over the AFC’s big-name tight ends.

Defensive end Dre’Mont Jones is having a respectable season with 5.5 sacks, but that only ranks eighth among defensive linemen in the AFC.

Broncos safety Justin Simmons is still one of the best safeties in the NFL, but injuries have limited him to just four games this season.

Denver outside linebacker Randy Gregory has also played in just four games, and injuries have also limited promising young pass rusher Baron Browning.

There’s just one obvious Pro Bowl candidate for the Broncos this year, and he should be a lock: cornerback Pat Surtain.

The second-year defensive back is allowing fewer than 19 receiving yards per game this season and he is yet to allow a single touchdown catch. Surtain is already considered one of the best CBs in the NFL and a Pro Bowl nod should be followed by All-Pro recognition for the young defensive back this fall.

So even if you don’t vote for any other Denver players this year, make sure you cast a Pro Bowl ballot for Surtain on NFL.com.
