Which board games should you buy on Black Friday?

A stack of Horrified and Quacks of Quedlinburg board games beside Codenames and Scythe, all on a wooden table.

Black Friday board game deals might have been overshadowed by tech savings once upon a time, but now? Well, they make it the best time of year to boost (or start) your tabletop collection.

The problem is, there are too many good discounts these days. Indeed, the digital shelves are creaking under the weight of board game reductions. That's why I've rounded up some personal favorites that I'd recommend prioritizing in 2024. Besides being some of the best board games overall, they traditionally get the biggest price cuts over Black Friday. Because the GamesRadar+ team and I have been covering the sale for more than five years now, we've built up a pretty good idea of what you can expect from them.

As an example, you should focus your attention on hobby games (AKA board games for adults). Even though family-friendly fare and classics are heavily reduced, they always seem to be. Meanwhile, more complex games are stubborn when it comes to holding their price. The November sale is one of the few instances where they're dramatically slashed in cost, making it an unmissable event. You can get big hitters for 50% of their MSRP or less, for example.

Let's dive in, shall we?
