Will Taylor Swift rerecord her debut album and when will Reputation (Taylor’s Version) be released?

Taylor Swift has enjoyed an eventful few days, scooping seven awards at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards days after declaring her allegiance for Kamala Harris

The singer sold out Wembley Stadium for eight nights over the summer as part of her record-breaking Eras tour and also released her 11th album

But fans might not have to wait too long for a release beyond the Tortured Poets Department – even if Swift has not announced anything yet.

For several years, Swift has been rerecording her albums because of a dispute over master recordings with her former label Big Machine Records and its new boss, Scooter Braun.

Her first six albums (originally released between 2006 and 2017) are all set to be rerecorded and released as ‘Taylor’s Versions’ – which, to fans is the only canon option.

Fans have already enjoyed Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), Red (Taylor’s Version), and Fearless (Taylor’s Version), while 1989 (Taylor’s Version) was released last October

Which albums are left for Taylor Swift to rerecord?

The remaining albums that Taylor Swift will have to rerecord to regain control of her creative work are:

Taylor Swift (2006)

Reputation (2017)

Will Taylor Swift rerecord her debut album?

Swift has not released her Taylor’s Versions in order of release of the originals but she has only the first and the last of the six left.

Despite her Eras tour setlist regularly sprawling more than 30 songs, she very rarely performs any of her first LPs these days.

But it does seem that at some point she will rerecord Taylor Swift – her 2006 debut.

Some of its tracks have occasionally made it into the surprise song section of her Eras setlist and she performed the single Tim McGraw back in March in Glendale.

When will Reputation (Taylor’s Version) be released?

A good question and not one that Swift has directly answered.

But fans – according to gossip site Brit and Co – have thought that an announcement might come on Swift’s birthday, December 13, which falls on a Friday this year.
