Hundreds of cinemas are slashing the cost of going to the cinema to just £3 - but it is for just one day only. As part of National Cinema Day on Saturday, September 3, many cinemas are offering cut price tickets.
This includes participants from major chains such as Cineworld and Vue and smaller independent venues. Those who are taking part are offering all tickets to all shows from just £3.
According to the National Cinema Day website hundreds of locations are getting involved. It said: "Cinema-going is one of the nation’s favourite out-of-home leisure activities, and National Cinema Day celebrates every aspect of the big screen experience.
"Everyone is invited to come along on the day to enjoy the incomparable sights, sounds and total escapism you can only get from a trip to your local cinema. Participating sites are offering tickets to all screenings from just £3, something we hope will encourage not just you, but also your friends and family to participate in the event.
"Many cinemas are showing a mix of recently-released films, as well as bringing back much-loved classics, many of which may not have been shown on the big screen in many years." To find your nearest participating cinema click here.
National Cinema Day has been organised by the cross-industry body Cinema First. While most tickets will be £3 the site does warn there might be an additional fee for "particular premium screenings or other elements of the experience". Cinemas might also charge booking fees for online and telephone bookings.
