Last month the news that Hamilton the musical would be coming to Manchester left theatre fans giddy with excitement. Many will want to get their hands on what is the hottest ticket of the year - but did you know that there’s a way to get early access in a theatre pre-sale?
Coming to ‘the greatest city in the world’ at Manchester’s Palace Theatre for a whopping 15 week run later this year, Hamilton is a show not to be missed, having won 11 Tony Awards including Best Musical, seven Olivier Awards, the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the 2016 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theatre Album.
Not only can some fans get their tickets early, but there’s also a little-known way to get them cheaper too - and we are ‘NOT throwing away our shot’ to bag them.

Hamilton tickets will go on general sale on Monday, March 13, but those who own an ATG TheatreCard will be able to secure their tickets early, from Friday, March 10.
TheatreCards give holders access to exclusive benefits like pre-sales, no transaction fees and even discounts off drinks in the bar. Last year, ATG reported that members saved over £700,000 on transaction fees with their TheatreCards.
Most shows waive their booking fees, too, and there are no exchange fees if you want to swap your tickets to a different day, which could save a few quid on your night out.
The TheatreCard classic can be purchased for £35 for the year with an auto-renewal, or for a one-time £45 payment if you don’t want it to automatically roll over. Alternatively, there’s the TheatreCard Plus, which costs £59 for the year, or £69 for a one off payment, which includes ticket protection.
Customers can bag 25 per cent off at the bar up to 30 minutes before the show starts, and will often be entered into competitions to win prizes, while also benefiting from member-only events.
So if you are hoping to ‘be in the room where it happens’ and get Hamilton tickets - particularly for the opening weeks - then an ATG TheatreCard could help you secure one early.
Written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, Hamilton is billed as "the story of America then, told by America now". It follows the story of America's Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, an immigrant from the West Indies who became George Washington's right-hand man during the Revolutionary War and helped shape the foundations of the America we know today.
The score blends hip-hop, jazz, blues, rap, R&B and Broadway - the story of America then, as told by America now.
ATG Theatrecard tickets will go on sale online at Manchester's Palace Theatre on Friday 10 March at 10am, giving holders three days of priority booking before our general sale on Monday 13 March.
The show will open at Manchester Palace Theatre for a 15 week season from Saturday 11 November 2023.
You can buy your ATG TheatreCard here, you’ll then need to register for priority booking on the Hamilton homepage.
