Petrol prices remain high across the country, as households continue to be squeezed by the cost of living crisis.
As the weather turns colder, families will be looking to put the heating on and stay warm but soaring energy costs will put many people off. And as grocery price inflation hits a record high at 14.7% - which could add a potential £682 to the annual cost of food shops - many people's money worries will continue to pile up.
Adding to the mounting pressure, last month the average price of diesel shot up by more than 10p a litre – the third biggest monthly increase on record. It added more than £5 to a tank, data from RAC Fuel Watch revealed.

A litre of diesel went from 180.37p to 190.51p making October’s rise second only to the ones seen earlier this year in March (22p – 155.23p to 177.29p) and June (16p – 183.43p to 199.05p) which gave rise to the new all-time high of 199.09p (25 June).
The latest figures from the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, obtained on Monday (November 7), show that the average litre of unleaded petrol in the UK is 165.62p. Meanwhile, an average litre of diesel costs 189.79p.
The Manchester Evening News has compiled a list of the cheapest petrol pumps in each borough of Greater Manchester. The data is sourced from PetrolPrices.com, which covers major service stations including brands like BP, Shell, and Texaco as well as supermarkets, smaller chains and independent stations.
The website combines price data from Catalist with its own crowdsource data, which comes from website users and forecourt owners. The site says it hopes to have "the most up to date and reliable price data across the industry".
