Newcastle United are off to Wembley later this month to face off against Manchester United in the Carabao Cup final.
Thousands of NUFC fans are expected to follow them down to London for the match on February 26 to cheer the lads on, with 32,700 tickets up for grabs and the first lot going on sale on Monday. One of the most important factors, of course, is where to eat - there will be tens of thousands of fans flooding Wembley on the day, so it's worth having an idea of where you can go for some grub in advance. BOXPARK Wembley
If you’re planning to head down to Wembley, the first place worth knowing about when it comes to food is BOXPARK. Located on the stretch from the Wembley Park tube station to the stadium, this food and entertainment hub is perfectly located to grab a bite to eat when you’re in Wembley.
BOXPARK Wembley is home to 26 food and drink vendors, with the grub on offer including burgers, pizza, fish and chips, sushi, kebabs and burritos, as well as Greek, Caribbean, Indian and Brazilian-style street food dishes - and loads more.
BOXPARK Wembley is open from 11am until 1am on Fridays and Saturdays, and until 10pm on Sundays. The venue often runs live screenings of matches held at the stadium that you have to book tickets for, and is usually packed out on event days - plans for the Newcastle match have not yet been released, but check the BOXPARK website closer to the time for more details.
To get into BOXPARK, you will also need a Black Card which can be downloaded for free. The card gives you the chance to build up loyalty points when you spend inside that can be turned into bar vouchers.
Wembley Designer Outlet
Just a stone’s throw away from the stadium is another venue packed full of dining options - Wembley’s Designer Outlet. As well as being home to a number of clothing and beauty stores offering discounted prices, the outlet also contains 19 food venues.
There’s a host of popular chains to choose from including TGI Fridays, Las Iguanas, Zizzi, Pizza Express, Nando’s and Frankie & Benny’s. If you’re looking for a spot to grab a coffee or a light lunch, the outlet also has a Subway, Costa and Pret.
There are additionally some options that you won’t find in our North Eastern neck of the woods - such as the 50s-style Big Moe’s Diner, London favourite You Me Sushi, and the independent Opa Greek bakery. If you’ve got a sweet tooth, there’s also Churros Buenos, or Treatz where you can get cookie dough, ice cream and milkshakes.
The Wembley Designer Outlet is open from 10am until 8pm every day except Sunday, when the opening hours are 11am until 6pm. Be warned that it can get incredibly busy on event days, so pre-booking a table for food is strongly advised.
