Where to buy the cheapest pint of milk in Scotland as prices could increase by 50%

A pint of milk is a staple for many households, but many Scots could find themselves paying almost double the price for the fridge essential.

Experts have warned that rising farming costs could lead to the dairy product seeing an increase from £1.60 to about £1.70, depending where you shop.

It is the latest surge in prices that families and households across the country will have to deal with, as the cost of living crisis continues to grip the nation.

And, while it might not seem like much, the rising costs could put extra pressure on families whose budgets are already stretched. That's why shopping around for the best prices can be important now more than ever.

Which is why we have decided to do some of the heavy lifting to find out how much a carton of milk currently costs in all of the major supermarkets across the country.

We decided to take a look at each supermarkets online shop to see their current prices, which is why Lidl have been omitted as they don't currently have an online shop to compare prices.

Also, to try and keep things fair, most of the prices looked at were from own-branded milk, but we occasionally found that we had to look for a few branded ones for the smaller pints of milk.

To help smaller and larger households, we have compiled a list of all the supermarket prices for both a one pint and four pint carton of milk.

Interestingly, a quick look at each supermarkets online shop shows that most are offering the same or very similar prices for their milk, with Morrisons being the dearest on both a 1 pint and 4 pint.
