While there’s still a long way to go this offseason in terms of free agency and the 2022 NFL draft, strength of schedule models are already being done based off projected win totals.
Using that model, and with No. 1 being the easiest strength of schedule and No. 32 being the hardest, NFL analyst Warren Sharp revealed that the Tennessee Titans rank near the middle of the pack at No. 19.
Here’s a look at the full list of Titans home and road opponents in 2022, along with their projected win totals:
Home: Indianapolis Colts (9.5), Jacksonville Jaguars (6.5), Houston Texans (4.5), Denver Broncos (10.2), Las Vegas Raiders (8.5), Dallas Cowboys (10.5), New York Giants (7.0), Cincinnati Bengals (9.8).
Away: Colts, Jaguars, Texans, Kansas City Chiefs (10.7), Los Angeles Chargers (10.1), Philadelphia Eagles (8.4), Washington Commanders (7.4), Buffalo Bills (11.8), Green Bay Packers (11.2).
Of Tennessee’s 14 upcoming opponents, half made the playoffs last year (Raiders, Cowboys, Bengals, Chiefs, Eagles, Bills, Packers).
The Titans will also have a tough task in facing the entire AFC West, which features a perennial powerhouse like the Chiefs, as well as the Raiders, Broncos and Chargers, all of whom have made significant upgrades.
As far as other AFC South teams are concerned, the Titans have the second-toughest slate in the division, with only the Texans (No. 23) having a more difficult road. The Colts (No. 4) have the easiest, and the Jaguars (No. 7) hold the second-easiest.
