Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story has reimmersed audiences across the globe in Shonda Rhimes’s dainty world of well-mannered romance, frilly fashion, and regal luxuries.
The six-episode mini-series landed on Netflix on May 4 and tells the story of Queen Charlotte and her husband King George.
However, as they took in the impeccable architecture of the grand palaces and mansions featured in the show, many viewers have started to wonder: where was the show filmed?

Placed in the heart of Oxfordshire, the scenes that are made out to be filmed at Buckingham Palace are actually shot at Blenheim Palace.
Belton House

In Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, the king is seen spending most of his time in Kew Palace, where the real-life Queen Charlotte and King George lived. However, these scenes were actually shot in Belton House in Lincolnshire.
The production team opted for Belton House because Kew Palace was too small for them.

The series focusing on Queen Charlotte kicks off with the story of how she ended up marrying King George.
In the episode, we see the pair’s elegant royal wedding, which was filmed at Oxford University’s Merton College.

Talking about the royal wedding episode, before Queen Charlotte decides she is happy to marry King George, the viewers see her trying to flee by climbing over a wall in a lush garden. The scene was filmed in Hatfield House in Hertfordshire.

In the show, the viewers are taken through a young Violet Bridgerton’s life with her family. These scenes were shot in Firle Place in East Sussex, a country residence that dates back to the time of Henry VIII.
