The highly-anticipated Game of Thrones prequel, The House of the Dragon, has finally landed on our screens.
The new series starring Matt Smith, Emma D’Arcy and Olivia Cooker is set 200 years before the original series, with audiences getting a glimpse into never-seen-on-screen Westeros history.
It's created by George R.R. Martin, the author behind the beloved books, and Ryan J. Condal.
However, this time the cast and crew didn't head to the same spots as the original Game of Thrones filming locations which included the likes of Malta and Croatia.
Instead, it's the UK which has been home to the bulk of filming locations, with popular holiday spots such as Cornwall, the Peak District and Hampshire offering up some spectacular backdrops.
Matt Smith, who plays Daemon Targaryen, was spotted filming in Cornwall at Kynance Cove according to CornwallLive. Meanwhile a number of those breathtaking Cornish beaches featured, including Holywell Bay Beach.
The historic St Michael's Mount also got a GoT makeover, doubling up as Driftmark, the ancestral home of House Velaryon.
Meanwhile over in the Peak District, the picturesque village of Castletown is believed to have been a filming location, as well as a Bronze age fort at Mam Tor.
Hampshire is also expected to feature. Although there's been no official confirmation that scenes were filmed at Aldershot, locals reported seeing a Warner Bros truck in the region, as well as flags that looked very similar to the House Targaryen sigil, as reported by HampshireLive. Horses and wooden carriages also had starring roles during the Aldershot filming.
Of course a show of this nature requires plenty of epic sets and CGI, so it's no surprise that some film studios were used.
For this show, it was the Warner Bros Leavesden Studios in Watford that served as a location - in fact, this is also where you can find the Harry Potter Studios Tour!
It wasn't just the UK which offered up backdrops for the thrilling series.
The towns of Cáceres and Trujillo in Spain have reportedly been used to double up as King's Landing, while cast and crew have previously been spotted in Monsanto, Portugal.
