Where is England vs Argentina being played – and will heat be a factor?

  • England will bid to reach the World Cup final for the second time ever when they face Argentina in the semi-finals on Wednesday.
  • The match will be played in Atlanta , at a venue that England are familiar with after beating DR Congo 2-1 in the round of 32 at Atlanta Stadium.
  • England had to deal with temperatures that reached 33C (91F) in their quarter-final against Norway in Miami on Saturday, while humidity was also high.
  • However, Atlanta Stadium has a roof and air conditioning, meaning that heat and humidity should not be decisive factors in Wednesday’s match.
  • Atlanta is at risk of thunderstorms ahead of the semi-final, but these are expected to move on in the hours before kick-off, and with the stadium also having a roof, the match is unlikely to be impacted.
