Who doesn’t love a little college football hot seat chatter in the thick of the summer?
CBS Sports’ Dennis Dodd has released his annual “Hot Seat Rankings” this week, which lists out all 134 college football coaches at the FBS level and where they rate on the hot seat meter. The ratings range from zero (Untouchable) to five (Win or be fired).
So where does new Michigan State head coach Jonathan Smith land? Well, he’s in a pretty safe spot as you would expect.
Dodd has Smith listed as a one rating, which is considered “safe and secure” at the moment. As the new lead man of the Spartans’ program, this is an expected spot for Smith.
