What is Jimmy Graham hoping to accomplish in this late-career return to the New Orleans Saints? A lot, actually — he’s within punching distance of several very achievable goals in the Saints record books. It wouldn’t take much for Graham to climb higher after picking up where he left off back in 2014.
Here’s where he ranks in Saints history for touchdown catches, receiving yards, total touchdowns scored, and scrimmage yards:
Receiving yards
Graham currently sits at No. 6 in career receiving yards for New Orleans, with 4,752. He only needs 124 yards to surpass legendary Saints wide receiver Dany Abramowicz (4,875), but there’s a significantly larger gap between Graham and the next player on the list: Michael Thomas (6,121).
Touchdown receptions
This is trickier. Graham already ranks second-best in touchdown catches (51) in Saints history, trailing only Marques Colston (72). He’s just ahead of all-time greats like Joe Horn (50) and Eric Martin (48). He could build on his lead here but realistically no one is catching him any time soon.
Total touchdowns
Now this is interesting — Graham’s ranked sixth among non-quarterbacks, with his 51 career scores as a Saint trailing Deuce McAllister (55) and Dalton Hilliard (53) behind the big three of Marques Colston and Alvin Kamara (72 each) plus Mark Ingram II (57). Three touchdowns — as we saw from Graham in 2021 — moves him ahead of Hilliard, five scores would put him in fourth place, and seven or more gets him ahead of Ingram to rank third all-time.
Scrimmage yards
If you include rushing and receiving yards, Graham’s 4,755 career yards rank 12th in Saints history — behind Danny Abramowicz (4,952) and Tony Galbreath (5,086) to keep him out of the top-10. Graham would need 332 total yards this season to surpass both of them. He totaled 167 yards in his last season with the Chicago Bears, so that might be tough to achieve.
