Where do Indianapolis Colts land in ESPN’s Week 7 power rankings?

The Indianapolis Colts bounced back in Week 6 with a win over the Tennessee Titans to improve to 3-3 on the year.

So, in this week’s edition of the ESPN power rankings, where do the Colts land heading into Week 7?

The Colts weekly position in these rankings has been all over the place. Their highest ranking was coming into the season at No. 18. At one point, following an 0-2 start, they were at No. 28, and they’ve been just about everywhere in between.

After coming in at No. 22 a week ago, the Colts have jumped a few spots to No. 19 following a recent win.

Determining these rankings for ESPN are more than 80 writers, editors, and TV personalities evaluating each team’s performance and then ranking them from 1-32.

As the rankings suggest, it hasn’t been all that easy to get a beat on this year’s Colts team. On one hand, they have a defense that has given up a ton of yards and an offense that has struggled to find consistency and sustain drives.

On the flip side, this is a team that’s also dealing with a number of key injuries and one that continues showcase it’s resiliency, fighting back from an 0-2 start and then again this past week by coming away with a win to get back to .500.

And for the ups and downs that Indianapolis has experienced on both sides of the ball, the defense does rank top 10 in takeaways, the offensive line is one of the best units in football, and the offense as a whole has been one of the best at generating explosive plays.

Depending on what lens you want to look through, there are certainly reasons for concern but there’s reasons for optimism as well.

Up next the Colts will be back home in Week 7 to take on the 2-3 Miami Dolphins who are coming off their bye week. For what it’s worth, the Dolphins come in at No. 24 in ESPN’s power rankings.
