Breece Hall is among the best running backs in the NFL according to a recent ESPN survey of NFL executives. The expectation is that the New York Jets running back is set to join the elite of the NFL this season.
In the ESPN survey, Hall ranked second in the NFL, behind only Christian McCaffrey of the San Francisco 49ers. McCaffrey and the 49ers will host the Jets in the season opener.
Coming off a very strong year, Hall can and should be even more productive in 2024. As he enters his third season in the NFL, Hall will not only be more experienced but also should be a part of a better and more balanced offense.
Last season, Hall had 1,585 yards of total offense and nine total touchdowns (994 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns). Given the state of the Jets offensive line, his 4.5 yards per carry is certainly impressive.
Now imagine the damage Hall could have done in 2023 had the offense been a functioning unit.

Without Aaron Rodgers last year, the Jets were second-worst in the NFL in total offense and third from the bottom in passing. If the Jets have even a rudimentary passing offense, then opposing defenses will be unable to effectively stack the box.
