Mauritius officials have said they will “spare no effort” in decolonising the Chagos Islands shortly after it emerged that the UK government had shelved plans to hand over the islands.
Despite previous efforts for the UK to hand sovereignty of the overseas territory to Mauritius, it's understood that the plans have now been effectively discarded.
