As ITV have recently made a plea for more Scottish fans to appear on their reality TV big hitter Love Island, we took a trip down memory lane to recall some of the most famous Scottish contestants, with some originating from Edinburgh and the Lothians.

With ITV appealing for a little more diversity this year, there has been no shortage of Scottish stars since the show made its debut back in 2015, with one contestant even winning the show in 2020.
Even though the show has only seen one Scottish star walking away with their lover in one arm and a cheque for £50,000 in the other, there have been many who have continued to thrive on their celebrity status and made a name for themselves outside of the sunny Spanish villa.
Paige Turley
Originally from West Lothian, Paige is currently the only Scottish winner of the show, walking away all loved-up with her partner Finn Tapp on season six of the show in 2020.
After having her doubts over Finn a few times throughout their time in the villa in South Africa, a change from the usual Majorca villa due to it being aired in January, she ultimately stuck with her guns and remains in a relationship with Finn.
Before entering the show, fans were made aware that Paige had recently dated Scottish singer Lewis Capaldi, with rumours going around detailing how their break-up resulted in his hit song 'someone you loved.'
Returning to TV for the first time since their Love Island win, the pair have recently agreed to be on E4's Celebrity Coach Trip, but have both admitted that they have handled stardom a lot better than others, thanking ITV's after care team for constantly ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
Anton Danyluk
Also from West Lothian, Anton Danyluk now lives in a stunning Dubai apartment, where he's now focusing on personal fitness coaching. He's also launching a his own 'ultimate fitness nightclub experience' in Dubai this year.
Anton featured on the show on season five, the same season as iconic winners Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury.
Although he struggled to tie himself down to a permanent partner, Anton still made it to the final of the show, being dumped off the island after 56 days.
Danyluk's time in Dubai hasn't been all sunshine and roses, however, the West Lothian celeb recently shared photos of himself after a horror car crash involving a bus, saying he was 'lucky to be alive.'
Shannon Singh
Appearing on the latest series of the show, Shannon Singh was the favourite to win the competition before the opening episode.
Unfortunately for her, she lasted just one day in the villa after being the only one not coupled up from the start, with fans thinking she was axed for not 'playing by the rules' in the earliest exit since the show began.
Shannon, a model from Glenrothes, grew up in a 'non-traditional Punjabi household and started modelling at the age of 18 when her mum sent photos of her to an agency in London.
Singh prepared for the show for 15 days and spent time in quarantine, only to be axed after just one day.
Since being dumped from the villa, Shannon has kept a fairly low profile, although still keeps her influencer title, having platforms on TikTok, Twitch and OnlyFans, as well as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
Jamie Clayton
Jamie entered the villa on season six, the same season as Paige, but didn't have as much of a success on the show, lasting only a week.
Although he entered the show mid-season to drop a bombshell on the other islanders, Jamie, from Edinburgh, was dumped from the villa with partner Natalia after receiving the fewest public votes.
He also took the chance to take out Shaughna out on a date upon his arrival, shortly after her partner Callum shook the whole villa by returning back from Casa Amor with a different partner.
Jamie, 28, is from Edinburgh and works as a recruitment consultant. He also had a spell behind the bar in one of the capital's most famous nightclubs, Why Not, with the club sharing a good luck message to Jamie when he entered the show.
Since his exit from the show, Jamie has turned back to his day-to-day job and taken time out of the reality TV gig, posting on Instagram at the start of the month that he was "focusing on getting a bit of normality back in my life."
