The Little Mermaid will be on Disney+ and confirmed release date is 6th September 2023. This has been officially confirmed by Disney who tweeted, "Disney's The Little Mermaid is making a splash at home! Stream it September 6 on Disney Plus".
But it's later than expected as given that most of Disney's movie releases drop on its Disney+ service following a minimum 90-day period, with Premieres typically releasing on the platform on Wednesdays. Fans expected it to drop on August 30th at the earliest.
Some fans have questioned why it's so late, with others suggesting it's because it's having its "digital release on iTunes" first.
And some fans are disappointed, one wrote on X (the new name for Twitter) "I have to wait another month" followed by a sad face emoji.

Yes, families will be able to stream Disney's new Live-action movie The Little Mermaid when it officially releases on Disney+ providing they have a Disney+ sibscription. Fans can already stream the animated version of Hans Christian Andersen's 1837 fairy tale of Ariel on Disney+ now.
