When Will The Cleveland Cavaliers Lose A Basketball Game?

The Cleveland Cavaliers pushed their NBA-best record to 11-0 on Saturday night as they were able to take down the Brooklyn Nets by a score of 105-100. While Donovan Mitchell and company were projected to be a playoff team in the Eastern Conference, few saw the team getting off to an undefeated start 2.5 weeks into the season. But they’re the surprise of the league so far this year, and the winning may continue for at least a few more games.

Cavaliers Off To An 11-0 Start In 2024-25

They fattened up on lesser teams early on. The first three wins for the Cavaliers came against the Raptors, Pistons, and Wizards, but they’ve defeated the more formidable teams that they’ve faced, as well. They were able to defeat LeBron James and the Lakers by 24 points back in October, and held a 39-point lead against the surging Warriors in Friday’s game (Cleveland won by 19).

They are of course in first place in the East, already two games up on Boston, and 5.5 games separates them from the 3rd seed, and we are just 9–11 games in. Cleveland’s point differential is +12.5 thus far, the second-best mark in the league behind only the Thunder. Their 122.7 points per game is the most in the NBA.

When Will Cleveland Finally Lose A Game?

So when will the Cavaliers lose a game? None of their next four opponents have a winning record, as they will take on the 76ers, Hornets, and Bulls twice between now and next Sunday (Nov. 17). And should they make it through that stretched unscathed and find themselves at 15-0, their game on Tuesday, November 19th will be the one that is circled. That is the day that they’ll take on the Boston Celtics, last year’s NBA Finals Champions and the current favorite to take home the title this coming June.

The game will be played in Boston, and will be nationally broadcasted on TNT.

Where to the Cavaliers rank in terms of best starts to an NBA season? Their 11th win in a row puts them in a 5-way tie for the 8th best start of all-time, and they’d tie the second-best mark in league history with 15 straight if they make it to next Tuesday without losing.

The 2015-16 Golden State Warriors hold the record for the most consecutive victories to start the season with 24, which is a record that may never be broken.

The Cavaliers figure to be heavy favorites for the next game on their schedule, which will be Monday in Chicago against the Bulls.
