The government’s announcement of a £400 payment to help tackle rising energy bills in the UK has been welcomed as a way of tackling the cost of living crisis, but there remain calls to do more on this issue.
Money Saving Expert’s Martin Lewis has called on Prime Minister Boris Johnson to get together with Tory leadership candidates Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak to work out a plan to increase support to homes in the UK. However, given the now fractious relationship between Johnson and Sunak after the latter’s resignation as chancellor helped to bring down Johnson’s premiership, it’s hard to see this happening anytime soon.
