West Ham United may have to wait until 2023 to face Newcastle United at the London Stadium after all Premier League fixtures this weekend were cancelled.
After the tragic passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday (September 8), the Premier League, along with the EFL, WSL and non-league, made the decision to postpone all matches.
The Premier League's statement read: "At a meeting this morning, Premier League clubs paid tribute to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. To honour her extraordinary life and contribution to the nation, and as a mark of respect, this weekend's Premier League match round will be postponed, including Monday evening's game."

The Premier League will now have the difficult task of picking a new date for all fixtures that were scheduled to take place this weekend, including West Ham vs Newcastle. There is also a chance that the Irons clash at Everton next Sunday may not go ahead, with The Queen’s funeral possible taking place that weekend.
As for Thursday night's Europa Conference League clash against Silkeborg IF in Denmark, West Ham are continuing discussions with UEFA as to whether or not the game will go ahead as planned.
With West Ham’s participation in the Europa Conference League Group Stage and the Carabao Cup third round before the World Cup break, postponed fixtures may not take place until next year. The Hammers are fully booked up until mid-November with 14 fixtures to fulfil before the World Cup kicks off.
The earliest opportunity for both fixtures to be rescheduled could be January 17/18, between West Ham’s Premier League fixtures away at Wolves (January 14) and at home against Everton (January 21). February 8/9 could also be an option.
