When the Rangers team flies to Seville as Gio van Bronckhorst’s heroes depart on a plane with historic twist

The journey to Seville started over the weekend as thousands of Rangers fans made their way to the Spanish city.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst and his men are set to fly out from Glasgow on Monday as they board their flight for a shot at history.

And their charter aircraft company have made sure they feel right at home - with a nod to the most famous date in the club’s history.

Rangers are due to fly out at 2.30pm this afternoon from Glasgow airport on Titan Airways flight ZT1872.

The team are then due to touch down in southern Spain at 18.31 local time before heading to their base ahead of the Europa League Final showdown.

Rangers will train at Seville’s Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium on the eve of one of the biggest games in the club’s history against German side Eintracht Frankfurt.

Tens of thousands of supporters made their journey over the weekend with many staying in nearby tourist areas such as the Costa del Sol and the Algarve which are short journeys from Seville.
