We associate Revolution nightclub with cheap drinks, sticky floors, and cheesy music - but rarely supermodels.
After Caprice Bourret shot to fame in the early '90s and quickly became the face of the Wonderbra, as well as landing a Vogue cover, it wasn't long before she was internationally recognised.
In 1999, however, Caprice decided she wanted to embark on a new career path as a pop star.
By this time she had gained a reputation as a socialite and tabloid regular, and many wondered if she could strut from catwalk to chart topper.
Speaking about her jump to recording music at the time, she said: “Sade was a huge model before she became a singer.

“Grace Jones was bigger than Naomi [Campbell] and I put together. I love my album - what am I going to do? Say ‘Oh, Naomi didn’t make it so nor am i?’”
She soon released Oh Yeah - and managed to get herself onto Top of the Pops, the pinnacle of British pop culture once upon a time.
As it so happened, the episode she appeared on was filmed right here in Edinburgh.
For one night only, Gail Porter hosted the legendary chart show at Revolution. An array of acts including Supergrass, Texas, Binary Finary, Geri Halliwell and - you guessed it - Caprice all performed in the iconic Edinburgh nightclub.
On August 25, 1999, music fans in the city flocked to the Lothian Road spot to watch as Top of the Pops was recorded outside of London for the first time in decades. The chart show was doing a tour of British cities, of which Edinburgh was the first.
They also stopped off in Brighton, Nottingham, Sheffield, Newcastle, Swansea, Liverpool and Birmingham - but none of the other stops on the tour were graced by the presence of Caprice.

Singing her first single Oh Yeah, it was the models only appearance on Top of the Pops. Unfortunately, it was a career path that was not carved out for Caprice - and her debut single reached just number 24 on the British charts.
In 2001, she released her follow-up single Once Around the Sun before hanging up her music hat. At the same time as she was attempting to break into music, she signed a deal with Debenhams for them to use her name on a lingerie range.
It proved popular, and the model purchased back the title from the department store and founded her own company. As it turned out, this venture proved far more successful than her pop career.
Ever since Caprice rose to prominence, she’s proved to be a versatile celebrity - appearing in everything from Hollyoaks to Celebrity Big Brother. In 2014, during the boom of the ‘Real Housewives’ franchise, Caprice was cast in the reality show Ladies of London.
These days she’s living in London where she runs her company - By Caprice, which sells lingerie, swimwear and sleepwear. We can only hope, and history has proven it is possible, that she makes her way back to the recording booth sometime soon.
