Her Majesty the Queen is to arrive in Edinburgh in the coming days as operations get underway following her death.
A statement from Buckingham Palace was issued on Thursday, September 8, confirming the monarch had passed away earlier that afternoon at Balmoral.
With tributes flooding in for Queen Elizabeth II from all over the world, Operation Unicorn is now in motion, which lays out a series of procedures due to her death being in Scotland.

A number of road closures have already been put in place in Edinburgh, with the Queen to be moved to the Palace of Holyroodhouse from Balmoral. You can find the list of closures made so far here.
The Scottish Daily Express reports that this move will take place on Sunday, September 11, with the body expected to be taken to the palace from Balmoral by car.
From there, the main ceremonial events in Edinburgh are reported to take place on Monday, September 12, with thousands set to line the Royal Mile for a procession that will see the Queen's body taken to St Giles' Cathedral on the High Street.

Many members of the Royal Family are expected to arrive at St Giles' on Monday, where a service will take place, before the Queen will lie in wake at the Edinburgh cathedral for 24 hours.
On Tuesday, September 13, plans expect Her Majesty to then be taken back down to London. Original plans had suggested this would be by use of the royal train, however reports have been made that this may also occur by plane.
With the coffin then to be taken to Buckingham Palace, the Queen will lie in state for a further period before her official state funeral.
On the day of her funeral, there will be a national day of mourning and a national silence. The funeral will take place at Westminster Abbey, followed by a committal service at St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, where Queen Elizabeth II will be buried in the King George IV Memorial Chapel.
