The Scottish Cup last 16 has been nothing short of breathless as Darvel and Falkirk round off the fixture card this evening.
Rangers are the holders of the famous old trophy and they creeped past Scottish Championship side Partick Thistle after a five-goal thriller at Ibrox. The game had it all with penalties, a Partick Thistle walk-through goal after Malik Tillman's Ibrox flashpoint and the end of Ian McCall's Firhill tenure after the Jags revealed he had been sacked after the defeat.
Ange Postecoglou and his Celtic side joined their Premiership rivals in the last eight after a five-star showing against St Mirren in an all-top flight clash at Parkhead. The worrying takeaway from the game for the Hoops was injury to Kyogo Furuhashi, who was forced off early on with big games on the horizon including the League Cup final against Rangers. Robbie Neilson and his Hearts side are also in the hat as the final group of teams in the tournament begin dreaming of Hampden and advancing even further.
