The Women’s World Cup may be over but there is good news for football fans as they will get to cheer on their Lionesses once again at the UEFA Women’s Euros. The bad news is — it won’t be for quite a while.
The team won their first UEFA Women’s Championship title by beating Germany 2-1 after extra time in the final last year, held at Wembley Stadium in London.
As winners, they competed in the inaugural 2023 Women’s Finalissima against Brazil, winners of the 2022 Copa América Femenina, with England claiming the title via a penalty shootout.
But when are the next Women’s Euros and can you buy tickets yet?
When are the next Women’s Euros?
The UEFA Women's Euros will have its 14th edition in the summer of 2025.
The competition has no defined start date, however, the 2022 Women's Euros were held from July 6 to July 31, 2022.
Where are the next Women’s Euros?
The 2025 Women’s Euros will take place in Switzerland.
When the UEFA Executive Committee met in Lisbon earlier this year, the Swiss Football Association won the right to serve as hosts after competing against France, Poland, and a joint bid from Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden.
Eight locations in Switzerland will host the competition, including:
- St Jakob-Park, Basel
- Stadion Wankdorf, Bern
- Stade de Genève, Geneva
- Stadion Letzigrund, Zürich
- Stadion St. Gallen, St Gallen
- Stadion Luzern, Lucerne
- Arena Thun, Thun
- Stade de Tourbillon, Sion
How many teams are playing in the Women’s Euros?
The finals will feature 16 teams.
The 2023–24 UEFA Women’s Nations League, which runs from September 21–December 5, will determine rankings for the European qualifying system.
What is the format of the Women’s Euros?
The Nations League finals will follow that league phase and take place from February 21 to February 28, 2024.
A total of 16 teams will then compete in Qualifying League A, 16 more teams will compete in Qualifying League B, and the remaining teams will compete in Qualifying League C.
After qualifying games are complete, the top two teams in each of League A’s four groups will advance directly to the European Championships.
Play-offs for the remaining seven spots will then be held, featuring the lower-ranked League A nations, as well as the winners and runners-up from Leagues B and C.
Can you buy tickets for the Euros 2025?
Ticketing details are yet to be confirmed, however, we do know there will be more than 720,000 tickets available for the 16-team tournament, across the eight Swiss venues, according to the UEFA website.
