When is the Champions League quarter-final draw? Date and time, TV channel, confirmed teams

Manchester City have confirmed their place in the quarter-finals of this season’s Champions League after comfortably seeing off the challenge of Sporting Lisbon.

Having already beaten their Portuguese counterparts 5-0 in the first leg of their last-16 tie, Pep Guardiola’s side got the job done at the Etihad on Wednesday to book their place in the last eight. City now go into the hat for the quarter-final draw and can look forward to a mouth-watering tie with some big names already through.

When is the Champions League quarter-final draw?

The draw will take place at 11am UK time on Friday, March 18 at UEFA’s headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland. As well as making the draw for the quarter-finals, the semi-final draw will also take place

Unlike the last-16, there will be no seeding or country protection for sides. That means, should they all qualify, City or United could face each other or one of their other Premier League rivals.

How can I watch it?

The draw will be broadcast live on BT Sport for UK viewers, as well as being available to stream on UEFA’s website. If you have a BT Sport subscription, you’ll also be able to stream the draw online or through the BT Sport app.

UEFA will hope the quarter-final draw goes more smoothly than the last-16 draw, where they were forced to pull the teams out for a second time after the original draw was declared null and void.

When will the quarter-finals take place?

The quarter-finals are scheduled to take place at the start of April. All of the first legs will be played on April 5/6, while the return legs will be played on April 12/13.

As for the semi-finals, they’ll be played later in the month, with the first legs on April 26/27, while the second legs will be played on May 3/4. The final will then take place on May 28.

Who has qualified so far?

Confirmed quarter-finalists: Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Manchester City, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Benfica.
