The new season is drawing ever closer with the draw for the Carabao Cup first round this afternoon.

Just hours after the new fixtures of the Football League season were released, the 202-23 season of the Carabao Cup gets mapped out.

Premier League teams are absent from the first round, which is split into a southern and northern section. Watford and Burnley also receive a bye to round two, with clubs involved in European football entering at the third round.

A total of 35 ties will be drawn involving the likes of QPR, Charlton, AFC Wimbledon and Reading.

The draw for the first round of the Carabao Cup takes place on Thursday, June 23, 2022.

The draw is set to start at 2.30pm BST.
