World champion Lawrence Okolie is set to defend his WBO Cruiserweight belt against Chris Billam-Smith this weekend.
The former training partners will be meeting at Bournemouth’s Vitality Stadium and are set to break attendance records at the venue with a 15,000 capacity crowd expected on Saturday. Okolie will be looking to defend his title for the fourth time after becoming champion with a win over Krzysztof Głowacki in 2021.
Billam-Smith is likely to be the fan favourite in front of his home crowd and will also hope to have the inside track on his former sparring partner. The Commonwealth and European cruiserweight champion earned his world title shot with a knockout win over Armend Xhoxhaj in December.
