One of the biggest events in online shopping is set to return in the coming weeks, giving Amazon customers the chance to bag a bargain.
Anyone looking to buy just about anything from a television to a pin board can snap up something on the cheap when the sale is held.
Now in its ninth year, Amazon Prime Day has risen in significance to be only behind Black Friday as a shopping commodity.
And with 2022 being the biggest event yet, there are suggestions 2023 could be even bigger.
Here is all you need to know.
What is Amazon Prime Day?
The annual sale is a great chance for Amazon customers to land a bargain.
It began in 2015 as a celebration of 20 years of Amazon and has now become an annual event.
In 2023, it was preceded by the Spring Sale, which saw customers given an extra chance to save on items such as laptops, TVs, and home appliances.
To have access, you need to be a member of Amazon Prime.
How long does Prime Day last?
It is a two-day sale, meaning the name should perhaps be Amazon Prime ‘Days’ — but it has not changed and is unlikely to.
It has been held over 48 hours since 2019.
When is Amazon Prime Day?
The date for 2023 has yet to be confirmed.
It had been held in July from 2015 to 2019 but the pandemic meant it was postponed in 2020 to an October slot, while in 2021 it was held in June due to the Olympics.
Last year, it was held in July once more.
Amazon usually holds Prime Day on Monday and Tuesday of the same week.
This could make it July 3-4, 10-11, 17-18, or 24-25.
