Every summer Amazon cuts the price of thousands of products in the Amazon Prime Day sale.
From headphones to vacuum cleaners, gaming accessories to groceries, the Amazon Prime Day sale is one of the biggest sales events of the year and customers look forward to major discounts on big brands.
Usually Amazon Prime Day takes place in mid-July but the last two years have seen some disruption to the sales event, with Prime Day taking place later in the year due to the impact of Covid and supply issues across the UK and beyond.
This year Amazon has confirmed Prime Day will begin on Tuesday 12 July. It will run for two days and have thousands of deals for Prime members.
What to do before Amazon Prime Day
Amazon will reveal Amazon Prime Day offers on the day itself but Amazon Prime members will be the first people who will be able to access them.
If you are an Amazon Prime member you will be able to see Lightning Deals earlier and get first access to them. That is a good thing because many of the best Lightning Deals are based on both a time limit and stock limits, meaning once enough people claim the deal it will be removed.
You can join Prime here. You will also get free delivery on a large number of items during the Amazon Prime Day sale.
You can get £70 off a Shark vacuum cleaner or £150 off rattan garden furniture in some of the other headline deals as of 9 June.
The best Amazon Prime Day deals
There are daily deals live on the Amazon site and many of them are as good, if not better, than some of the deals that will be available on Prime Day itself.
The Ninja 11-in-1 multi cooker is reduced by £90, down from £280 to £190 in the biggest discount in the sale. The six-litre cooker combines steam cooking, pressure cooking and air frying in one unit and says it can cook meals 70% faster than traditional slow cookers.
Other Ninja discounts include 14% off a 5.2-litre air fryer, which is now down to £129. You can also get £50 off a Ninja blender and £10 off a slimline blender and smoothie maker. There is also £20 off a 'perfect temperature Ninja kettle in the sale.
The deals cover everything from vacuum cleaners to smaller items like Burt's Bees Lip Balm, which is 10% with Amazon's subscribe and save.
Where else can you shop for deals?
Amazon's daily deals
Amazon's daily deals section is already sharing offers in the run up to Prime Day.
Amazon says the four months of Music Unlimited is its best Prime Day deal yet but you can expect the best offers to arrive around June 21 and 22.
The latest deals include discounts on the Amazon Ring Doorbell, which offers one of the biggest price cuts since Black Friday.
You can also get Echo wireless earbuds for £50, down from £120.
Amazon Warehouse
Amazon Warehouse sells used or slightly damaged products and that is why prices are usually lower than in mainstream stores.
The Warehouse section includes smartphones, laptops, tablets, home and kitchen appliances.
The products are used, tested by Amazon and then resold with the usual returns options for every Amazon product.
The items come in four different ratings; like new, very good, good and acceptable in order to guide you when buying something.
The best deals in the Warehouse section are in the gaming section, where you can get cheap gaming keyboards, Nintendo Switch consoles, controllers and gaming headsets.
Outlet
Amazon also has an outlet page.
While Warehouse items are returned and repackaged, Outlet offers discounts on items that are either overstocked or are soon to be removed from sale.
This means the sellers are keen to get rid of them and that sometimes results in bargain basement prices.
Amazon Vouchers
Amazon vouchers is a standard voucher section offering smaller discounts.
Subscribe and Save is the brand's subscription service offering big savings for customers who commit to ordering monthly packages of certain items including food and other household items such as toilet roll.
