An ex-Edinburgh policeman has told of the time a notorious city publican, known for barring customers at will, met his match when attempting to throw out a group of plain-clothed officers from the bar.
Wishing to remain anonymous, the former policeman, who worked for the force for 30 years, says the incident involving a group of his colleagues and Canny Man's owner Watson Kerr, became the stuff of legend among city coppers.
The late Mr Kerr, who ran the Morningside watering hole for decades, became infamous for his bizarre approach to customer service.
