They'll be joined by presenter Maya Jama, who took over hosting duties from Laura Whitemore, in a brand-new luxury villa in South Africa. Speaking about her new role recently, Maya said: "The biggest pressure is the slow-motion walk to enter. There’s so much pressure! [My outfit] has to look good in the wind and you also have to be able to move in it." You can read more on this here.

Although the January 2023 series is the ninth season of the popular dating show, it is only the second instalment of the winter edition. The first took place in 2020 and was won by Finn Tapp and Paige Turley. Here's everything you need to know about how to watch the new series.

When does winter Love Island 2023 start?

The new series kicks off officially on Monday, January 16 at 9pm on ITV2 and the broadcaster's new streaming service ITVX. The launch show is always a bumper episode as the contestants are introduced to one another for the first time.

It means the episode will air for one hour and 35 minutes, ending at 10:35pm. Those that can't get enough Love Island gossip will also be able to tune into podcast, Love Island: The Morning After, which will be hosted by Indiyah Polak and Sam Thompson for the fist time.

The former Islander and finalist Indiyah and much-loved series commentator Sam will be coming together every day to spill the tea on all the latest goings on in the Villa. From their thoughts on the latest couplings, dumpings and bombshell antics, to interviews with Islanders from across the show’s 9 series, Love Island: The Morning After, produced by Listen, is the go-to podcast for fans of the hit dating series.

The duo will also join new host Maya Jama live in London every Sunday night for Love Island: Aftersun, where they'll deep dive into the latest news from the sun-drenched South African Villa, share unseen clips and chat to celebrities, Islanders’ family, friends and more.
