The League One season has nearly concluded and soon the composition of the division for the 2022/23 campaign will become clear.
One of either Wycombe Wanderers or Sunderland will be promoted to the Championship, while the League Two play-offs begin today. Swindon Town take on Port Vale while Northampton Town play Mansfield Town.
The loser of the League One situation and the victor of the League Two final will join the likes of Bolton Wanderers, Sheffield Wednesday, Derby County, Portsmouth, Ipswich Town and Barnsley in the third tier of English football. Wanderers, who finished ninth, have already bolstered their squad with the capture of Jack Iredale from Cambridge United on a free transfer.

The summer transfer window provided the opportunity for all clubs in the division to bolster their squads ahead of what is looking like will be a highly competitive League One next season. With that in mind, ere are the key dates you need.
When does the summer transfer window open?
The transfer market reopens on Friday, June 10 for English clubs. Out of contract players can move as free agents before the window opens.
It is expected that France's Ligue 1 will follow suit.
What about European Leagues?
The window for Serie A, Bundesliga and La Liga clubs is expected to open on July 1, meaning some international deals may not go through until then. A good example being Erling Haaland's move from Borussia Dortmund to Manchester City.
When is deadline day?
The window is expected to close on Monday, 1 September at 11pm. That gives EFL clubs an 83 day period to get deals done.
