The transfer window is officially open giving Manchester United and Manchester City the chance to properly begin their summer business.
It's a crucial summer for United as new manager Erik ten Hag will be looking to stamp his own identity on a side that is in desperate need of reinforcement. Quality was already needed after a terrible season and that has only been increased further following the departures of Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard and Edinson Cavani, Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba. A midfielder or two, centre-back, right-back and forward are all on the agenda.
Things aren't quite as drastic at City, with the Premier League champions already strengthening their squad considerably with the signing of Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund. Beyond that, Pep Guardiola wants to strengthen at left-back and in central midfield.
