Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 has just started but some players are already looking ahead and wondering what's next for the blockbuster battle royale
Fortnite is constantly changing; Chapter 4 Season 2 had about six or seven major changes to the game within the season alone, so it's only natural for Fortnite players to wonder, what's next for the game? Seasons of Fortnite aren't exact – some seasons can last just over two months, while others will last about four months.
Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 just started last week with Fortnite Update 25.00 and already players have been treated to some Optimus Prime themed quests, with the man (or, robot?) himself being the grand prize of the Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 Battle Pass. You'll need to get some quests completed and a few Victory Royales in this season to unlock him however(which will be a lot easier if you find the flames), since this season is on the shorter side.
When does Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 end?
According to the in-game Fortnite Battle Pass page, Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 ends on August 25, 2023. An August end date makes Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 the shortest season of Chapter 4 at 78 days.
Both Chapter 4 Season 1 and Chapter 4 Season 2 lasted three months, so this latest season coming in at just about two-and-a-half months is a bit of a shocker. It's especially strange when you consider that past summer seasons like Chapter 3 Season 3 have been some of the longest seasons in the history of the game, with that season lasting for 105 days.
What's coming in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4?
It's too early to tell at this point. Epic Games doesn't start revealing what's next for the game until relatively close to the start of a season. However, thanks to some well known Twitter leakers like @iFireMonkey we know of at least one collab set to come to the game next season.
A Fortnite x Doctor Who event is allegedly going to be taking place in November, to coincide with the show's 60th anniversary on November 23, 2023. The event will allegedly run for two weeks and offer up tasks to players to unlock some cosmetic items (like the Find the Force event from earlier this year).
The crossover is set to bring two skins, two pickaxes, one Glider, and one emote to the game , and if I had to speculate, the two skins are surely David Tennant and Ncuti Gatwa who are set to feature heavily in the 60th anniversary special. Although if Epic Games really wanted to create something truly great, a Doctor Who skin with 15 different styles for each iteration of the Doctor wouldn't go amiss.
