But they have the chance to make amends when they return to action this week, with games against Ajax and Chelsea scheduled over the next six days, before the international break takes place at the end of the month.

Liverpool are back in action on Tuesday, September 13 when they face Ajax in a Champions League Group A fixture at Anfield.
The Reds last faced the Eredivisie champions back in the 2020/21 campaign, beating their opponents home and away in the Champions League by a scoreline of 1-0 in each fixture.
An own goal from Nicolas Tagliafico earned Liverpool all three points in Amsterdam in October 2020, before a Curtis Jones strike in the reverse fixture a month later ensured the Reds completed the double over their visitors.
