Wheelchair user 'sickened' as she's told to pay £1,800 for parking in disabled bay

A wheelchair user said she feels "sickened" after being told to pay £1,800 for repeatedly parking in a disabled bay.

Cerys Gemma has been handed a standard space in the cark park at her home in Cardiff Bay's Prospect Place apartment complex. However, she claims the space is "tiny" and flanked by a pillar which makes it impossible for her to get her wheelchair out of her car.

She has been using one of the disabled bays instead, but New Generation Parking Management says these spaces are only for visitors. The company has issued a series of £100 tickets, but this has increased to £160 as Cerys refused to pay them - as Wales Online reports.
