PATIALA: The grain markets of Patiala and Sangrur this year have witnessed manifold increase in the arrival of wheat this year. The farm experts credit hot weather as the major reason behind the early wheat arrivals and believe the per-acre yield overall will decline.
In Patiala in mandis, 1,36,600 MT of wheat produce had till April 10, of which 1.29 lakh MT has been procured but only 32,800 MT has been lifted. Last year, on the corresponding day, 12,654 MT of wheat arrived.
