Netherlands international Wout Weghorst appeared to say farewell to current loan club Besiktas on Saturday evening amid Manchester United's interest in signing the striker on loan.
As reported by the Manchester Evening News , United, who booked their place in the fourth-round of the FA Cup with a 3-1 win over Everton at Old Trafford on Friday evening, are advancing with a potential loan deal for the 30-year-old. The Reds are desperate to strengthen their attacking options in this month's transfer window and do plan to bolster their forward line with a loan signing.
Weghorst, who scored twice in the Netherlands' thrilling World Cup quarter-final with Argentina in Qatar last month, is currently on loan at Besiktas from Championship table-toppers Burnley. He joined the Turkish heavyweights in July following the Clarets' relegation from the Premier League.
