What we know about the ex-car salesman who’s become a Belgian prince

A 26-year-old former car salesman has been officially recognised as a Belgian prince after a DNA test confirmed he is the son of Prince Laurent.
Clément Vandenkerckhove was born in August 2000 following a relationship between Prince Laurent and Flemish singer Iris Vandenkerckhove.
The official recognition grants Vandenkerckhove the right to a royal title and inheritance , though he will not receive an allowance or enter the line of succession .
Vandenkerckhove learned his father's identity at the age of 16 but was sworn to secrecy, which he stated caused him severe anxiety and panic attacks.
He emphasised that building a relationship with his biological father is his main priority and remains hesitant about adopting the royal surname.
