What was shouted at Frenkie de Jong upon arrival to Barcelona as Chelsea agreement 'very close'

Frenkie de Jong was sworn at in Spanish by a section of angry Barcelona fans upon his arrival to the club's facilities as Chelsea is now in the 'final stretch' as the transfer agreement gets 'very close' for the midfielder.

The case of De Jong has just been toxic from the get-go. Barca, who most know by now is in a horrific financial situation, are in the process of trying to reduce their wage bill quickly with President Joan Laporta in a race against time to register the new recruits for the Rayo Vallecano game this weekend. Reducing the wage bill or generating transfer fees are the main options for a club that risks losing their two free agent signings if they aren't registered in time for the La Liga 2022/23 opener.

With the second option, Chelsea could be the lifesaver for the Catalan giants, with it being reported that new owner Todd Boehly is highly keen to complete a double swoop totalling around £87million for the 25-year-old. His fellow teammate Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. "Given how complicated de Jong's situation is at Barcelona, I'll keep this as simple as I can," Chelsea's chief correspondent for football.london's Adam Newson informed in his latest Q&A segment.

"From what I understand, Chelsea are confident they will reach an agreement with Barcelona for de Jong, potentially around the £60m mark. Whether de Jong is prepared to leave the Camp Nou remains the sticking point, especially as he's owned €17m in deferred wages by Barcelona. An agreement on that would need to be reached."

With Spanish Journalist Gerard Romero stating that negotiations are in the 'final stretch' between the two clubs for a fee to be agreed, Barca's number 21 is aiming to continue to be professional until a final answer on his future is clear.

This means that he will not boycott training etc, and will keep on being a professional in these difficult circumstances for him and his representatives, who are reportedly upset and extremely angry with the club for the latest allegations made, as per The Athletic.

The whole situation, though, has now reached boiling point, and a certain section of Barca supporters may have inadvertently pushed the midfielder closer to Chelsea with what they shouted at the player in question upon his arrival at the club's facilities.

Diario Sport caught De Jong arriving in his car with a glum look on his face. Whilst fans were hurling verbal abuse his way, one supporter's comments translated to "Lower your salary bit**'.

Chelsea fans- will this incident itself push Frenkie de Jong closer to a Blues move, or do you reckon he'll still want to stay put, even after this incident? Leave your thoughts in the comments section below!
