Victor Osimhen is a top target for Manchester United this summer as they aim to fill the void in their attack.
United are on the hunt for reinforcements upfront in the coming months ahead of the new season kicking off in mid-August. The need for a new striker has been evident over the course of the past campaign.
Marcus Rashford hit 30 goals in the recently concluded season, netting more than double than the next players in United's goalscoring charts. Fellow prolific strikers are needed to take the pressure off the England international and help United close the gap to champions Manchester City.
United lost Cristiano Ronaldo in November when the attacker left following a bombshell interview with Piers Morgan when he criticised several aspects of the Old Trafford club. Wout Weghorst arrived on loan in January from Burnley, but scored just twice in the second half of the season.

A new striker is a priority target this summer and Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane and Osimhen, who has just won Serie A with Napoli, are thought to be top of the list. However, United are operating under the assumption that Spurs will not sanction the departure of Kane to Old Trafford this summer.
With that in mind, Osimhen could be seen as a more achievable target to obtain. He is 24 and his contract at Napoli runs out in the summer of 2025 as things stand.
The striker has spoken frequently on his future in recent months as speculation mounts this summer as to where he will be playing his football next season and if this will be at Old Trafford. Here's a round-up of what he has said so far.
In March, Osimhen admitted it is a dream of his to play in the Premier League one day. It raised the prospect of a potential switch to United this summer.
He said: "I think playing in one of the top five leagues in the world is an amazing feeling for me. A lot of people worldwide consider the Premier League as the best and the strongest league but now I'm in one of the best leagues in the world which is the Italian Serie A.
"I'm working so hard to make sure that I achieve my dream of playing in the Premier League some day but like I said, it's a process and I just want to keep on this momentum and continue to do well."
However, that is not to say that he is unhappy at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona. In April, he vowed he is happy at Napoli.
"The truth is, what's happening to me is incredible. I hope the fans are as happy as I am, as we are," he told L'Equipe. "The whole environment you're talking about deserves this happiness. They are the ones who gave me the confidence that a young player needs to really explode."
And he even suggested later in April that he could even stay at Napoli, despite the speculation surrounding his future. It raised the prospect of him potentially remaining in Italy beyond this summer.
"It was tough for me to make my dream come true of becoming a professional football player and now we are about to win [the league] for the first time. I’m at a great club and my career is growing constantly," Osimhen told TG5.
"I am already at one of the biggest clubs and I could not ask for more. Forza Napoli always! We are close to the objective [Serie A title] and cannot wait to make our dream come true, to make it a reality. The players always believed.
"We always thought we could do something exceptional, even when nobody else believed we could. The affection from the city is extraordinary, I have never received so much love. I can’t wait to celebrate with them at the stadium."
But after the final game of the Serie A campaign as Napoli won the title for the first time in more than three decades, Osimhen admitted it is down to the Italian club's hierarchy to decide his future when he was quizzed on his future again.
"I don't know, the President has to decide that," he said. "I love the people of Napoli, they have shown me so much love. For me, I don't mind, the president decides and I will just go with the flow."
