The Indianapolis Colts were back at practice on Thursday in preparation for a pivotal Week 8 matchup with the Houston Texans.
After releasing a very lengthy injury report on Wednesday, there was some very good news on Thursday with almost everyone listed as a full participant.
Let’s take a closer look at it all with what you need to know:
– Jonathan Taylor and DeForest Buckner were not only back at practice for the second straight day but were full participants as well. We will see what Friday holds, but a good sign for both. According to George Bremer, Taylor said prior to practice that he wanted to ramp things up today to see how he felt. Taylor added that there was some soreness after Wednesday but nothing that was unexpected. Buckner, meanwhile, said it was great to be back practicing again.
– For the second day in a row, Cameron McGrone, EJ Speed, and Ashton Dulin were all full participants–a very good sign for each.
– Josh Downs, Ryan Kelly, Michael Pittman, and Braden Smith all did not practice on Wednesday. However, as we mentioned in that article, that has become the norm for each of those players. All were then full participants on Thursday. The time away from practice for these players seems to be maintenance at this time.
– Cornerback Chris Lammons returned to practice and was a full participant. This was his first practice since prior to the Tennessee game.
– Genard Avery again did not practice and so did Jaylon Carlies, who Shane Steichen said on Monday would miss some time.
– Of note, since both Buckner and McGrone are both still technically on IR, when either player is activated and available, the Colts will have to make a corresponding roster cut for each player to make room on the 53-man roster.
