Experts say consumers and businesses will be the hardest hit after President Donald Trump's long-threatened tariffs plunged the country into an escalating trade war with China, Canada and Mexico.
From Tuesday, 25 percent tariffs have been applied on imports from Canada and Mexico, along with a heightened 20 percent levy on Chinese goods.
