Dallas, Texas-based Southwest Airlines Co. (LUV) is a passenger airline company, providing scheduled air transportation services in the U.S. and near-international markets. The airline giant is set to release its third-quarter results before the market opens on Thursday, Oct. 23. Ahead of the event, analysts expect Southwest to report a non-GAAP loss of $0.01 per share, down 106.7% from a profit of $0.15 per share reported in the year-ago quarter. The company has surpassed Wall Street’s bottom-line estimates thrice over the past four quarters, while missing the projections on one other occasion.
