Ohio State football is still continuing its recruiting hot streak, this time grabbing a commitment from in-state 2025 offensive tackle, Carter Lowe.
The Buckeyes were able to beat out Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee and Michigan for the 6-foot, 6-inch, 300-pound lineman’s commitment. The Toledo native is one of the top prospects in the country, ranking as the No. 9 tackle and 79th overall prospect in the country according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.
Lowe is the first offensive lineman in the 2025 Ohio State recruiting class, a group that should end up again as one of the nation’s best. Find out below what to expect from the latest Buckeye commitment after watching his highlight film.

He isn’t just a tackle size wise, Lowe is athletic as well. He moves great for how big he is, often pulling as a run blocker. It’s not often you see tackles moves the way he does. Lowe gives the Buckeyes some versatility as well because he can also play guard if needed but to his athleticism.

It’s as if Lowe lives at IHOP, he’s getting pancakes all over the place. The aggressive nature of his game is what separates him from others. He uses his size and strength to overpower defenders and that’s aspect of Lowe’s game we need more of that he’s bringing it to Columbus.

With great length in offensive tackles, you have to know how to use it. Lowe does, using his reach to push rushers off their angles and giving his quarterback extra time. He’s still a work in progress, but the base to be elite is there.

Scouts view
This is the best aspect of Lowe’s game at the moment, he’s a dominant run blocker. He clears space, is able to use his athleticism to get to the second level. Once Lowe locks up a defender, it’s over. He is college-ready immediately to contribute in this area.

Offensive lineman are the hardest to evaluate out of high school. Some of it is level of competition, others is adjusting to playing against bigger and faster opponents. A lot of his projection depends on how he progresses during his senior year and what the Buckeye line looks like when he arrives on campus. Lowe has a very high ceiling, so getting him as part of the 2025 class is a huge recruiting win for Ohio State. As they say, the best in Ohio, stay in Ohio and Lowe will.
